Serving More Kids

Attention Patients in Treatment Through Summer 2022:

Over the past couple years, as founder and director of Pompositticut Farm Day Camp, I have personally become more aware of the hardships and challenges patients face when undergoing chemotherapy. Managing one’s home life, school and family is challenging itself in today’s world, not to mention the added difficulties one experiences through the hardship of receiving such treatment.

Coupled with my personal challenges, May 22 will mark the anniversary of the passing of my mother, Shirley Kane and in her memory we have established a program through the camp entitled “Serving More Kids”. With this in mind, our goal is to provide a wholesome camp experience for children whose custodial caregiver will be undergoing cancer treatments.

Beginning in summer 2013, we piloted this program in the memory of my mother by providing cancer patients complete tuition coverage and will continue to do so for the summer of 2022. Only minimal administrative fees will be required per session, which covers the cost of insurance for the child. If you are interested in this scholarship, or know someone who would benefit from this program. Please print out the following forms and submit to the camp Office by May 15.  All applicants that meet the requirements of the program are accepted provided space is available in the session of choice. Early applications are encourage due to popularity of our camp programs and Pompositticut prides itself on its small limited enrollment. Once application is received and complete, further instructions will be provided to confirm the child’s registration.

Pompositticut has been an established business for over 40 years and is an accredited day camp providing children with full-service programming that includes several auxiliary specialty programs. Having been a part of thousands of children lives in experiencing the joys and freedom of summer camp, we are honored to attempt to contribute positive aspects to the lives of families who will be challenged this summer.
